Koi Water Colors Pocket Field Sketch Box is a student grade portable watercolor set that contains:
- Half pan watercolor paints (12, 18, 24 or 30-colors)
- Refillable detachable medium (#6 round) water brush
- Dabbing sponges
- Lid that can be used as an easel for postcard size paper
- Palette that can be secured at the side of the sketch box
The best part is that it is only 6.25” x 4.5” x 1.125″. This set will definitely be my must-have on an urban sketching session!
The colors included in the 18-color set are:
- Chinese White
- Lemon Yellow
- Permanent Yellow Deep
- Jaune Brilliant
- Vermilion Hue
- Crimson Lake
- Cobalt Blue Hue
- Cerulean Blue
- Prussian Blue
- Yellow Green
- Viridian Hue
- Permanent Green Deep
- Yellow Ocher
- Light Red
- Burnt Umber
- Ivory Black
[Left page] I created swatches of the colors except Chinese White. What I like about the colors are they are bright! Comparing this set to the watercolor that I normally use, Koi Water Color is quite opaque.
[Right page] I mixed three colors to make different colors. For the upper wheel, I used Vermilion Hue, Cobalt Blue Hue and Lemon Yellow. For the lower wheel, I used Purple, Cerulean Blue and Lemon Yellow.
Well, that’s it for now! I will leave you with this video showing Yank Frank using the Koi Water Colors Pocket Field Sketch Box!
