The Common Room, dubbed as the new haven for makers, opened its doors to the arts and crafts enthusiasts (and to curious beings) last August 1. After what seems to be a very long time, Sundae Scoops finally went to Common Room!!! (Yes, a single exclamation mark does not suffice in conveying our excitement. AAAH!!!)
Before entering the establishment, Common Room greets its customers with Abbey Sy’s lettering by the front door. And as if that was not enough to make a girl fall in love with floating paper cranes adorned store, the place is jam-packed with so many pretty, witty and innovative items from the front-runners of the local craft scene! To satisfy every art enthusiasts and crafters needs, the masterminds of Common Room, Roma of Popjunklove and Maan of Type Kita, partnered with the following incredible Filipino artists and crafters:

From the above roster, it is no doubt that the store houses anything that you would ever want and everything that you never knew you need! The wall-to-wall merchandise varies from inspiring art prints to hang up on your wall to art pieces created by your favorite local artists, from desk essentials and craft supplies to unique handmade accessories, and from colorful paper flowers to home sprays that keep your toilet smelling like no one has ever used it before. We were so amazed with all the products that we did not know that we have been browsing (and practicing immense self-control and refraining from buying everything) inside the store for two whole hours. Just go ahead and take our money, Common Room!
Another thing that made Common Room THE place-to-be for artist and crafters are the workshops held regularly. You can also check the Common Room Workshops Album in their Facebook page for other upcoming workshops that you probably would not want to miss.
True to its tag line, the Common Room is definitely ‘A place where makers gather’. And we cannot wait to go back to hoard wonderful handmade awesomeness and to hopefully learn a new skill in one or probably more workshops.
